Stopped by Pegasus Bookstore in Berkeley tonight (right before watching Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows - which I fully recommend).. Walked out with L’Assommoir by Emile Zola, Gravity’s Rainbow by Thomas Pynchon, Swann’s Way by Marcel Proust, My Years with Ayn Rand by Nathaniel Branden, and another one that I can’t list here because it is B’s Christmas present :)

MY SUPERHUMAN IMMUNE SYSTEM

Bianca and I generally tend to look more punk than most kids around here (dominant upper east coast prep culture, didn’t help when she shaved her head and I dyed my hair blue, etc.), so sometimes people think we are intimidating before they get to know us. My point here is that they are dead wrong.

Woo! I can hardly believe it but I just contested a $500 parking ticket and got it totally dismissed. The dude had such a mean gruff exterior but then he went off the record to advise me and was so sweet and understanding then went back on the record and switched to mean gruff voice. I love kind souls :) And whatta relief..$500 is almost my monthly rent sheesh
